Westchester Hills to begin work on new Rees Jones master plan
Westchester Hills Golf Club in White Plains, New York, is starting work on a substantial redesign and renovation of its 108-year-old golf course.
Golf course architect Rees Jones has created a master plan and will oversee the work, which includes the expansion of 14 greens, the creation of new greenside pitching swails, reshaping fairways, renovating all of the course’s bunkers and strategically adding new bunkers, and installing a new state-of-the-art irrigation system.
“The entire membership is excited about the work, which comes on the heels of renovations the Club implemented in 2021 and included a major upgrade to our pool and a redesigned and expanded putting green,” said club president Mark Stagg. “Those changes created a resort-style setting, including new fire pits and enhancement of member amenities.”
The course was designed in 1913 by head pro Peter Clark, with the assistance of Donald Ross.
“The time is now to improve this great course and club, and we are excited to be working with Rees Jones to create an amazing experience for our members,” said Stagg.
