The July 2018 issue of Golf Course Architecture magazine is out now, in both printed and digital formats.
The cover of the latest issue features the first completed course at the FLC Quang Binh development in Vietnam, one of ten that are planned for the resort, all being designed by Brian Curley.
Our Tee Box section opens with the new Royal Greens course in Saudi Arabia, which is scheduled to host the country’s first ever European Tour event in 2019. Royal Greens has been designed by Dave Sampson of EGD.
We also hear from Ashley Mead of Ogilvy, Clayton, Cocking & Mead (OCCM), about the renovation of Yangtze Dunes in Shanghai, China, and speak with Riley Johns and Keith Rhebb about their planned restoration of the William Flynn design at Rolling Green Golf Club in Springfield, Pennsylvania.
Adam Lawrence asks golf course architects, including Tom Doak, Jeff Brauer and David Kidd, what makes a great par five design? And Frank Giordano investigates the case of the architect whose name was taken off the course that will host this year’s Ryder Cup.
GCA visits Rees Jones’ renovated South course at Corica Park in California, and Bruno Steensels’ The National course in the Belgium capital, Brussels. Adam Lawrence also reports on a visit to the renovated Red course at Royal Golf Dar Es Salem in Morocco.
