Seeding begins on series of new holes at Fox Hills GC
The construction of a series of new holes at the Fox Hills Golf Course is progressing well.
Fox Hills is located near Watford City in North Dakota. The course was formerly known as the Watford City Municipal Golf Course.
The facility is located in a part of the US that has seen significant growth in recent times due to the discovery of oil nearby. This has seen the local population swell considerably.
Golf course architect Kevin Norby of Herfort Norby Golf Course Architects is leading the work, which includes the creation of 12 brand new golf holes beside the course’s original nine, which first opened 40 years ago.
Working with club owners Landscape Management Co., Norby has overseen the shaping of these 12 new holes, with seeding set to take place shortly.
These 12 holes are set to open for play next spring.
A second phase of the project will then see the original nine holes close, and six new holes built to complete the full 18 at Fox Hills.
