Rosewood Cordevalle reopens following greens renovation

The golf course at the Rosewood CordeValle resort in San Martin, California, has reopened following a greens renovation project overseen by Bruce Charlton of Robert Trent Jones II Golf Course Architects.

Work on the golf course initially began three years ago, with the punching and reseeding of fairways, and has been conducted in segments so as not to disrupt play.

The recent project began in April 2019 and included the resurfacing of all 18 green complexes, the re-levelling of the driving range and tees, and the use of a higher quality turf.

“Rosewood CordeValle is one of the best golf courses our firm has designed around the globe, showcasing all of the wonderful characteristics of the California landscape,” said Charlton. “We are thrilled to unveil the updated course, which includes careful landscaping and the installation of premium quality turf that has restored the course to its original glory from its inauguration in 1999.”

Originally designed by Robert Trent Jones, Jr., the course offers views of the Santa Cruz Mountains with dramatic contours and elevation changes, and makes use of Northern California’s hillsides, canyons and meadows.

The resort’s course has hosted the 2016 US Women’s Open and the PGA Tour between 2010-13.

“Rosewood CordeValle is thrilled to unveil our newly resurfaced course, which provides our members and guests with a world-class golf experience on fully-refreshed, premium greens with the personalised service Rosewood CordeValle is known for,” said Luca Rutigliano, managing director of Rosewood CordeValle.
