Ron Garl completes Huntingdon Hills CC course renovations
A project to renovate the golf course at Huntingdon Hills Country Club in Lakeland, Florida, has reached completion.
The work has been led by Ron Garl, the course’s original architect, and has focused on the course’s greens and bunkers.
The greens have been regrassed with TifEagle bermudagrass, and have been restored to their original size as designed by Garl.
A number of bunkers that were short of the general landing zone from the tee have also been removed. Bunkers are also more visible from the tee.
Further aims of the work included enhancements to the overall playability and ensuring the course met the specifications of the United States Golf Association.
The renovations have cost in the region of US$1.3 million and have been financed by the club’s owner, Bud Socia.
