Renovations to be made to course at Kiva Dunes Golf Resort in Alabama
A series of improvements will be made to the course at the Kiva Dunes Golf and Beach Resort near Orange Beach, Alabama.
Beginning on 7 July, the work will focus on improving playability while maintaining shot-values for more experienced players.
Existing champion turf grass will be replaced on the course’s greens with more temperate and golfer friendly Tif-eagle turf. Bunkers are to be rebuilt and each tee box will be leveled.
Rototilling will also be carried out on the course’s bermudagrass fairways. This process disposes of any organic layering under the fairway and helps improve lies and approach shots into the new greens.
Jerry Pate’s firm, the company behind the original design, will oversee the renovations. Work is scheduled to be completed by September 2015.
