Renovations completed on renamed Fazio II Course at St Andrews CC
A series of renovations have been completed at the Fazio II Course – previously known as the Olde Course – at St Andrews Country Club in Boca Raton, Florida.
Led by golf course architect Tom Fazio II, the recent project has seen the creation of new greens, tees and bunkers on the course. The course has also been renamed after Tom Fazio II.
Work has also been done to enhance the course’s aesthetics, with new landscaping, bulkheads and lake banks put in place.
Bermudagrass has been added to the course, while the club’s practice facilities have also been reworked. This includes the addition of a larger, centrally located 10,000 sq ft putting green, and the relocation of the chipping complex to provide a much longer area for chip shots.
“It was a pleasure and an honour to work alongside the wonderful members, George Kervern, director of course and grounds and Paul Clivio, director of golf and their team at St Andrews CC,” said Tom Fazio II. “Working with such an exceptional team really makes a difference in a successful complete renovation. Our main goal when designing the course was to enhance the playability and visual aspect. The new strategic greens contouring and design allows a variety of different pin placements to change the difficulty and keep your interest on daily basis.”
