Rennie hired to develop new masterplan for Inverness Golf Club
Golf course architect Stuart Rennie has been hired to create develop a masterplan proposal for the course at Inverness Golf Club in Inverness, Scotland.
The course at Inverness Golf Club was originally designed by George Smith and JJ Fraser and later altered by James Braid. Rennie will work closely with the club, which was established back in 1883, to create an analytical survey of the parkland course.
Rennie has been asked to look at the location and configuration of the course’s 85 bunkers, review sightlines, address tree management issues and see if more variety can be introduced to the par three holes.
As part of his work, Rennie will develop a hole-by-hole appraisal of the course, along with a concept sketch design draft masterplan. Once complete, these plans will be presented to the club’s Council of Management, before members have the chance to review the proposals.
Now based in Bishopbriggs near Glasgow, Rennie originally comes from the Highlands region of Scotland. Work on a new course he has designed at Torvean Golf Club near Inverness recently got underway.
