Rees Jones to redesign Westchester Hills Golf Club

Golf course architect Rees Jones is to lead a project to redesign the 18-hole course at Westchester Hills Golf Club in White Plains, New York.

Jones is currently reviewing the existing features of the course to design a master plan for the project, with information on the timeline and details for the works to be announced in the next few weeks.

“Our vision is to liven up a classic-style golf course while upgrading the course’s playability and maintenance standards,” said Jones. “The members at Westchester Hills strive for excellence and we are proud to be included in their success. The golf course’s existing features and our master plan design will take the Hills golf experience to a new level.”

The course at Westchester Hills was opened in 1913 and was originally designed by the club’s first head professional Peter Clark with the assistance of golf architect Donald Ross. The club is now managed by Troon Privé, the private club operating division of golf management company Troon.

“We are looking forward to working with Rees Jones and furthering our vision of a premier world-class private club for our members,” said Josh Lowney, general manager of Westchester Hills Golf Club. “Our course has gone through enhancements over the past few years and working with Rees Jones provides us with a capstone event to take the course to a higher level as a world class and widely recognized track. The pride of Westchester Hills is our members, and we are thrilled to improve a classic golf course for their everyday play.”
