Practice area renovation nears completion at The Club at Savannah Quarters

The Club at Savannah Quarters, located within the master-planned community in Pooler, Georgia, is nearing completion of a renovation of its practice area.

Jason McCoy, senior vice president at Greg Norman Golf Course Design – who was responsible for directing the original construction of the club’s 18-hole course – is overseeing the project alongside operator Troon and development company Freehold Communities.

The project includes building a new short game area with two bunkers and renovating the old area into a new putting green, as well as expanding and laser-levelling the current teeing area. Target greens will also be added to the range.

Laserturf – a construction company based in Watkinsville, Georgia – has been carrying out the work following its success on projects at Seminole, Sea Island, and Pinehurst.

“We believe in delivering as high quality of a golfing experience as possible for our members,” said Jonathan Mattox, director of golf at the club. “That is why the team at The Club at Savannah Quarters is thrilled to complete these renovations. The importance of this critical project cannot be overstated in our effort to continue to deliver the best conditions to our club members and guests.”

The project is scheduled to be completed by 1 October.
