New era for leading German golf course design firm

Christoph Städler and his long-time lead designer at Städler Golf Courses, Achim Reinmuth, have formed a new partnership called Städler & Reinmuth Golfdesign.

Städler Golf Courses was founded in 1987 and has been a leader in European golf design for the past three decades, with a portfolio of over 50 new courses and over 130 renovations. Reinmuth joined the firm in 1999 and the establishment of this new partnership is designed “to ensure long-term continuity in servicing the firm’s extensive client base and future clients”.

Städler was president of the European Institute of Golf Course Architects between 2019 and 2021, during which time he emphasised the importance of golf course sustainability. The firm’s recent project at Golf Resort Oeschberghof in Germany’s Black Forest is one example of his sustainability principles being applied in practice. Both Städler and Reinmuth are sustainable design leaders of the institute.

Matthias Pötter of contractor Josef Pötter Golf described the new partnership as having “exceptionally high design competence and reliability”.

Städler said: “The team of Städler & Reinmuth Golfdesign is looking forward to many new and interesting projects as well as to the cooperation with many inspiring people from the golf industry.”
