Happy holidays from us all at Golf Course Architecture!
The team at Golf Course Architecture would like to wish all of our readers a happy and safe holiday period, and all the best for 2021.
Over the past 12 months we’ve brought you a wide range of news and insight on golf course design and development, and we hope you’ve enjoyed reading it as much as we have compiling it.
If you have a bit of free time over the festive period, why not take a look at some of our highlights from 2020?
Our cover stars over the past year were: Bernardus Golf in the Netherlands, designed by Kyle Phillips; Gil Hanse’s New course at Les Bordes in France; Sheep Ranch, the new Coore & Crenshaw course that opened this year at Bandon Dunes in Oregon; and Fox Chapel in Pittsburgh, where Fazio Design completed a restoration of the Seth Raynor course.
Our feature stories in 2020 focused on: short par threes; a tribute to the late Pete Dye; golf construction work amid the coronavirus pandemic; and how to approach golf and residential developments. And site visits over the year included Golf International de Roissy-en-France in Paris, Costa Palmas in Mexico, Seletar Country Club in Singapore, and Forest Dunes in Michigan.
Our online coverage has included: a series of opinion pieces from Mike Clayton, partner at Clayton, DeVries & Pont; progress on Fry/Straka’s Union League project in New Jersey; a construction report of the Brambles course in California, designed by Coore & Crenshaw; the redesign of The Island Golf Club in Dublin by Mackenzie & Ebert; and progress on Nicklaus Design’s new Sedayu course in Indonesia.
Our January 2021 issue will include GCA Green Pages, our annual directory of businesses working in golf design. Subscribe to receive your copy.
Thank you for reading and supporting Golf Course Architecture in 2020. Here’s to a great 2021!
