Greens renovation to begin this June at PGA National’s Champion course
A greens renovation is to begin on the Champion course at PGA National Resort & Spa in Palm Beach Islands, Florida, this June.
An original Tom and George Fazio design, the Champion course was redesigned by Nicklaus Design in 2002.
The upcoming work will be overseen by Brad Nelson, PGA National’s director of agronomy, who will work closely with selected associates at Nicklaus Design.
The Champion course hosted the Ryder Cup in 1983, the PGA Championship in 1987, and has hosted the Honda Classic for the past 11 years.
The course is expected to reopen later this year.
