Growing up and spending much of his life in Denmark, Grauballe has been profoundly influenced by the nation’s celebrated tradition of design and architecture. His work embodies the Danish emphasis on blending functionality with aesthetics, resulting in golf courses that are as beautiful as they are practical. Grauballe’s approach is deeply rooted in the traditions of classical British golf course architecture. His portfolio includes work on some of the world’s most revered courses, such as Royal Aberdeen, Lahinch, The Island and Ballybunion. Additionally, as the lead architect for Hawtree Ltd, he played a key role in the design of the iconic Trump International Golf Links in Scotland.
