Ernie Els heads to Lido Lakes to see progress of renovation project
Ernie Els has paid a visit to the Lido Lakes golf course in Jakarta, Indonesia, which is currently undergoing a significant renovation.
Ernie Els Design is in charge of the project, with senior design associate Greg Letsche leading the work.
The course’s owners MNC Land hired Els’ firm and IMG Golf Course Services for the project back in August 2014.
“We managed to do some great work on the final shaping for the front nine holes and finalised the design elements for the back nine,” said Els. “It was good to meet up with the guys at MNC Land, who are building what will be the finest golf resort in Jakarta, and the IMG Golf Services team who are doing a superb job for us on the construction side.”
Part of the project will see the introduction of five completely new golf holes at the course.
The Lido Lakes course is expected to reopen for play early next year.
