Enhancements made to the Pines Course at Stockton Seaview

A series of enhancements have been made to the Pines Course at the Stockton Seaview Hotel and Golf Club in New Jersey, US.

Tee boxes were redesigned on every hole and returfed with bentgrass. The tee boxes have also been resized, reshaped and reangled.

Fine fescue grass was added to holes nine and eighteen near the approach areas. A bunker on the par three sixth hole was also replaced, and fine fescue mounds were added in its place to boost the hole’s appeal and playability.

The work on the Pines Course follows on from improvements to the club’s Bay Course, which was completed in May 2014.

Historical signage has also been added to the course to commemorate the 1942 PGA Championship, which was won by Sam Snead and was played on a composite course at the resort. This composite course incorporated holes that now form part of both the Bay and Pines courses.

“For local golfers and golfing travelers visiting the area, Seaview’s championship courses, combined with its storied history of hosting the game’s best players, and hundreds of famed celebrities, athletes and dignitaries, makes it a truly memorable golf experience,” said Brian Rashley, director of Golf, Stockton Seaview Hotel and Golf Club. “The commitment of Seaview’s owner, Stockton University, is unmatched as they continually redefine the customer experience, while always promoting the tremendous heritage that has endured for 100 years.”
