Cypress Head course reopens for play following Dasher’s renovation work
The course at Cypress Head Golf Club in Port Orange, Florida, has reopened following a renovation project.
Led by Mike Dasher – one of the course’s original architects – the project included the regrassing of all greens with Jones ultra-dwarf bermudagrass and the restoration of all green complexes to their original size and shape.
The course’s tee boxes were laser leveled and the tees and fairways were regrassed with Celebration 419 bermudagrass.
New forward tees were added to selected holes, while new irrigation and drainage was introduced across the course.
Cypress Head was originally designed by Mike Dasher and Arthur Hills, opening in 1992.
Of the recent work, Dasher said: “Now that the greens have been restored to their original size and contour, and a new stand of improved turf added I think the result will be an increase in enjoyment for all players.”
