Texas-based course operator Eagle Golf has launched an offer allowing two women to play for the price of one at the 26 public golf facilities it operates until the end of March.
“The golf industry has long realised that women represent a significant growth opportunity. However, this has not always been supported by the experience women have when they come to a golf course,” said Eagle VP Dale Folmar. “We want women to know that they are not only welcome at our courses but we want them there. As a company, we want to be a leader in the initiative to welcome women to the game.”
The PGA of America has welcomed the promotion. “Women have long demonstrated interest in the game and represent untapped spending power for golf,” said Sandy Cross, the PGA's director of women's and new market initiatives. “It's great to see a management company like Eagle Golf embrace the importance of bringing more women to the game and create opportunities that are welcoming, fun and affordable.”
