Scottish management company Braemar Golf has been appointed to manage the Golf de Saidia course in Morocco.

The golf course, which was designed by Spanish architect Francisco López Segales, and opened in 2008, is part of the larger Saidia resort development on Morocco’s eastern Mediterranean coast. The resort project has recently been acquired by Saidia Development Company, a subsidiary of CDG Développement.

“Saidia is one of the most important touristic projects in Morocco and part of the national tourism strategy. Braemar Golf is delighted to be working with SDS on such a high profile and important project”, said Braemar general manager Andrew Glen.

Saidia represents Braemar’s third project in Morocco, but the first that is not connected with the company’s joint venture with local developer Compagnie Générale Immobiliére. The resort includes one of the largest marinas in the Mediterranean, along with three existing hotels comprising over 1,500 rooms, and 6km of Mediterranean coastline. Two further golf courses have been mooted in future phases.
