Ely City Golf Club will open for this golfing season with new and improved features following the completion of phase two of a renovation designed and supervised by Swan Golf Designs.
Re-bunkering took place on holes seven, eight and nine last autumn. They have recently been brought into play by head greenkeeper Andy Baker, providing golfers with a new challenge this summer.
The second phase of this renovation also included the full-sale remodelling of the eighth green’s approach and surrounds.
The full renovation project, which is being phased in over the next five years, is focused on revising the course’s bunkering strategy to create a course in-keeping with the aesthetic and playing expectations of the clubs members and visitors.
Seven of the course’s holes were revised in the first phase of the current renovation, which was completed last year and has been met with widespread approval from players.
