The Old American Golf Club, located north of Dallas, will open on 1 September for limited daily fee play.
The course, located at the Tribute resort community north of the Texas city, is designed by Tripp Davis in collaboration with touring profession Justin Leonard. Davis also designed the resort’s first course, which was patterned after classic Scottish links holes. As its name suggests, Old American is inspired by the Golden Age of golf course architecture and influenced courses such as Shinnecock Hills, National Golf Links, Prairie Dunes and Crystal Downs.
“We are excited for Metroplex golfers to experience what we believe is a special layout with a truly incredible location,” said Jeff Kindred, the course’s general manager.
Davis, an accomplished amateur player and former All-American at the University of Oklahoma and Leonard, who played his college golf at the University of Texas, toured and played a handful of America's classic Golden Age golf courses prior to starting the design process for Old American.
