A restoration of the 18-hole course at the Eaglewood Resort & Spa in Itasca, Illinois, has been completed.
Renovation work has been ongoing for multiple years at the course, which is located 35 miles from the city of Chicago.
The 6,017 yard, par-72 course was originally designed by Charles Maddox and opened in 1928. Lee Schmidt carried out a remodel of the course in 2006,which involved the rebuild of all bunkers and the lake on the twelfth hole being enlarged.
“Our restoration process included a heavy top dressing on our greens prior to the harsh winter that has allowed our course to rebound quickly for outstanding play,” said Andy Carr, director of golf at the resort. “I have no doubt players will really enjoy the beauty and much improved conditions at our course.”
