Britain's Sports Turf Research Institute is inviting greenkeepers, course managers, fine turf managers, groundstaff and sports professionals to attend a research event which, it says, will provide insight into the future of sports turf management.
The one day event will run on both 19 and 20 September at STRI’s research facilities in Bingley, Yorkshire, with demonstrations conducted at seven separate turf management areas. Delegates will be based in small groups to allow interaction and question time with advisory staff.
Key subject areas include: disease management and plant health, nutritional management, grass species and cultivars, application tools and methodology as well as technology and machinery.
Ruth Mann, who manages the research trials for STRI, said: “Following on from the hugely successful event last year, we’re delighted to once again host a research event which will provide sports turf managers with invaluable insight and knowledge with industry experts to improve and sustain the quality of their turf.
“We are working with a number of companies who share our passion to stay at the cutting edge of sportsturf management. This year’s event will showcase best practice and demonstrate the many innovative products, machinery and techniques that are being trialled by the STRI Research team. “
The deadline for booking for the event is 31 August. Invitations have been sent out to all sports clubs and facilities across the UK and Ireland. Discounted accommodation of 50 per cent for one night at the Ramada Hotel in Bingley is available.
