Arlington-based architect John Colligan is leading a multi-million dollar renovation of a 1930s-era municipal course in Amarillo, Texas.
Colligan, along with irrigation designer Larry Rodgers, will oversee the reconstruction of the Old Course at Ross Rogers Gold Course in the city; the project was kickstarted by the need to replace the existing irrigation system, which requires greens staff to manually switch on sprinkler heads, and for which the city can no longer obtain spares.
The project has been budgeted at US$3 million, which the city expects to raise by increasing green fees once the course is reopened, planned for mid 2012.
