Bobby Weed Golf Design has been selected to redesign the South course at Quail Ridge Country Club, in Boynton Beach, Florida.

Following the opening of a new 23-million-dollar clubhouse in late 2017, the South course – originally built by Joe Lee and opened in 1974 – is the first of the two courses at Quail Ridge slated for renovation.

“Quail Ridge has an enthusiastic and active membership that loves golf,” said Weed. “The improvements at the South course will provide a new, contemporary finish to last the next several decades.

“The work will create visual contrast with reduced turf areas, lower profile and subtler green complexes, and clustered bunkering that adds strategic options, all providing style and depth.

“The Society of Seniors originated at Quail Ridge and the membership has a number of good golfers on its rolls. Designing for a discerning audience is always engaging and why we are in the business.”

Renovation work – which will also include the practice area – will begin in April 2019, with reopening expected in November.
