Work is progressing well on a new golf course currently under development in the city of Elyria in Ohio, US.

Designed by the Nicklaus Design firm, the Valley of the Eagles course is being created on the site of the former Spring Valley Golf Club.

A recent Elyria City Council meeting saw representatives from the Nicklaus firm present a summary of their work to council members and the wider community, with positive feedback from attendees.

As well as the 18-hole course, the 145-acre site will also be home to a restaurant, banquet facilities and more than of 200 homes once completed.

Construction work will continue throughout the course of this year, and the course is scheduled to open in 2016.
