A golf course located within the Presidential Estates community in Aventura, Florida, has been sold, and will reopen for public play.

The new owners plan to develop housing on a portion of the 104-acre property, with construction now under way on revisions to the golf course. The design is being led by EDSA Landscape Architects.

“We are excited to lend our design talents to the first state-of-the-art public golf course in the Aventura area,” said Gregg Sutton, a principal of EDSA. “The combination of the property’s incredible location, significant upgrades and public entry is outstanding. We’re preserving course elements that have made it an enduring and beloved destination, while adding features that keep the property at the cutting edge of golf course play and style.”

Jeffrey Perlow, former mayor of Aventura and an attorney with Fromberg Perlow & Kornik, who assisted the new owners with the transaction, said: “The golf course will serve as the only public golf course in the Aventura area and will become the heartbeat of our community, where people can relax, enjoy their time and truly maximise the benefits of being part of a golf club lifestyle.”
