The Old Union golf course, part of a new community called Owen Glen, located near Blairsville in the mountains of north Georgia, USA, opens on 8 July.
Designed by veteran architect Denis Griffiths, who was the architect for the two courses at St Andrews Bay (now Fairmont St Andrews) in Scotland, the course measures 7,667 yards. Griffiths, a former ASGCA president, is also the course’s owner, having bought a controlling interest earlier in the year.
As well as golf, Owen Glen residents will benefit from amenities including the 4,400 acre Lake Notteley, which offers more than 100 miles of shoreline.
