Greg Norman is set to design a new 18-hole championship golf course as part of an expansive development on Jamaica’s south coast.
No timeline has been set for the course, which will be built for Sandal’s Whitehouse resort following the successful results that Norman had with their Emerald Reef Golf Club in the Bahamas.
Whilst on a recent trip to the island, to scout out possible locations, Norman told the Jamaica Observer that: “GNGCD’s (Greg Norman Golf Course Design) philosophy takes a minimalist and least disturbance approach, which over the years has resulted in state of the art courses, blending seamlessly with the surroundings and appears to be part of the landscape.
“Jamaica’s south coast is very picturesque and we are looking forward to creating a course which will only serve to enhance the milieus,” he added.
Norman’s firm has opened over 70 courses on six continents since it was established in 1987.
