La Réserve Golf Links, designed by golf course architect Peter Matkovich and Open champion Louis Oosthuizen, is growing in at Heritage Golf Club in Mauritius, ahead of the course’s opening in December 2023.
The layout will feature views of the Indian Ocean from every hole, with elevated tees and greens providing plenty of vantage points for players to look over Mauritius’ tropical bays and southern shores.
“La Réserve Golf Links is everything I dreamed it would be – a dramatic, challenging golf course in an extraordinary setting overlooking the Indian Ocean,” said Oosthuizen. “The landscape and environment are second to none and we’ve worked so hard to create a course that captures the spirit of links golf, the purest form of golf, while using native grasses and sensitive design to ensure it remains authentic to the land around us.”
“Jacob Sjöman has perfectly captured the essence of this remarkable golf course and highlighted precisely why everyone who has had the privilege of a private preview believes it to be among the best new golf courses in the world,” said Jonathan Menteath, general manager of Heritage Golf Club, on the photographer’s recent visit to La Réserve.
“The feedback from the DP World Tour and players who have seen the course, including our resident tournament professional Marcel Siem, has been phenomenal. We’re very excited to be opening the course in December and bringing top-flight professionals from the DP World Tour to La Réserve Golf Links for the AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open at the end of the year.”
La Réserve, which will join the resort’s other eighteen-hole layout, Le Château, will be reserved for members and Heritage residents only.
