At the recent Golf Business Forum, KPMG's Andrea Sartori invited visitors to look at the website www.golfbenchmark.com for information on the firm's golf benchmarking survey. This significant industry initiative will allow golf clubs to assess how their operational and financial performance ranks against industry highs and lows.
Data has been collected from over 700 courses in 27 countries and the results are expected to be available in November 2007.
Delegates of the Golf Business Forum were unanimous in their verdict that the 2006 event held at Aphrodite Hills in Cyprus was the best yet. The two-day event brought together some 210 major stakeholders in the business of golf, including developers, investors, tourism officials, designers, suppliers and operators from over 30 countries.
Gary Player was the special guest of the event and was awarded the first Golf Business Forum Lifetime Achievement Award.
