OK, it's a coffee table book, but it's a very, very good one. Hard to go wrong with the combination of veteran golf correspondent Jim Finegan and ace photographer Larry Lambrecht. If you have played golf on the great links of Scotland and Ireland, this book will fill you with longing to return, especially if you spend a long winter's evening reading it.

If you haven't, you will surely want to – and if not, you have no soul.

Full of anecdotes, advice and even the odd bit of analysis, Where Golf is Great is a fine match for Finegan's other books on golf in the British Isles. The kind of book that makes waiting for spring ten times harder.
