The Society of Australian Golf Course Architects' annual review of the course design industry continues to go from strength to strength. Editors Neil Crafter and Paul Mogford have produced another good looking edition packed with a mix of industry developments, new courses and historical scholarship. American researcher Tom MacWood contributes a typically thorough article on the work of English architects Hutchison, Campbell and Hotchkin, but perhaps the volume's two standouts are Alister MacKenzie's original drawings of Royal Melbourne, and a unique joint interview with Tom Doak and Jack Nicklaus on their collaboration at Sebonack on Long Island, New York. To some eyes, the magazine is perhaps slightly over-designed, but the content is first rate. Recommended.
