The Emerald Green Golf Resort and Country Club in Tampa, Florida is returfing all 27 greens with Champion Bermuda grass as part of a capital enhancement project, with selected greens also receiving new undulations and shaping.
The Florida resort, originally designed by Pinehurst-based architect Dan Maples, has been managed by Billy Casper Golf since October 2011. The grass conversion will be done nine holes at a time, to allow players continued access to the remaining eighteen, with the project due for completion in early September.
“The new greens will provide even more consistent, durable and pristine putting surfaces for superior playability, especially during hot Florida summers,” said Andy Green, the club’s general manager.
