The Streamsong Resort in Florida has shared an update on the progress made in the construction of its new Streamsong Black course, which is on schedule to open in Autumn 2017.
Designer Gil Hanse’s team has begun initial shaping and irrigation work for the site, and the plans are starting to come to life.
“The routing for Streamsong Black flows as if it has been there for years, just waiting to be uncovered,” says Scott Wilson, Streamsong’s director of golf. “Streamsong Black is going to fit in extremely well with Streamsong Red and Streamsong Blue, yet stand alone on its own merits, taking Streamsong Resort to another level in the golf world. Our staff are looking forwarding to preparing for opening day.”
“Streamsong Black will elevate the experience at Streamsong to the next level,” adds Rich Mack, chief finance officer and executive vice president for The Mosaic Company, which owns the resort. “Going from two world class courses to three, and working with Gil on what will be his showcase property in terms of original golf course development in North America, is a very big deal. The course will be reminiscent of the courses in the sand belt region of Australia.”
