The Club Managers Association of America has announced that it is to withdraw its support from the Golf Industry Show event after the 2010 show in San Diego, which takes place from 10-11 February.

GIS has been jointly promoted by CMAA, the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America and the National Golf Course Owners Association, for several years. The Golf Course Builders Association of America, the American Society of Golf Course Architects, the National Golf Foundation and the United States Golf Association remain as participating partners.

Las Vegas has been announced as the venue for the 2012 show, which will be held from 29 February-1 March in the Nevada city. The 2011 show venue is Orlando.

In a joint statement the partners affirmed their support for the show, the site selection process and enthusiasm for Las Vegas: “We are excited to be heading to Las Vegas. The city has been identified as a desirable venue for the event by attendees and the exhibitors. We are firmly committed to the show and the process we’ve followed to make it a world-class event. We would be remiss if we did not express our appreciation to the CMAA for partnering to create the Golf Industry Show and collaborating to develop it into a key event for the golf industry. All the Golf Industry Show partners will continue to work with the CMAA on initiatives that make the game stronger.”
