The second annual Golf Consultants Association Business of Golf conference will be held at the Celtic Manor resort in Newport,Wales, from October 29-31. Delegates to the conference, whose theme has been announced as 'Profit From Golf' will have the opportunity to play the Wentwood Hills golf course – which will host the 2010 Ryder Cup.

The conference has received substantial backing from government organisation UK Trade & Investment. The 2006 event will also be sponsored by other partners including the Wales Tourist Board and turf maintenance equipment manufacturer Ransomes Jacobsen. Golf Course Architecture is again the event's media partner.

The 2006 programme will focus on how delegates can maximise profit from golf, and how non-profit making organisations can gain wider economic benefits from developing golf in their area. Spokesman Andy Hiseman said: "We're expecting at least 125 delegates will join us at Celtic Manor this October, although we have the capacity to go much larger than that.We had outstanding feedback from last year's event, with a near 100 per cent approval rating from those that attended."
