A Dutch firm has entered the golf industry with a new 360-degree golf course imaging service, designed to attract more golfers to clubs.

Onsite360, which has already established its business in the tourism industry, is hoping that golf clubs will also make use of the service to offer potential customers a preview of their courses, and more.

“Besides imaging the complete golf course, it is also possible to add facilities – such as the bar, restaurant, shop and hotel rooms for example – to our virtual tours,” said Onsite360’s Jos Van Den Berk. “The virtual tour can be presented on a golf club’s website and also on social media. The virtual tour will also be forwarded to more than 300 golf tour operators for maximum exposure.”

All imagery is hosted by Onsite360, enabling clubs to add links to their website or social media accounts without any in-house technology or expertise.

In addition to giving potential visitors a preview of the course and other facilities, OnSite360 says that the 360-degree technology has other applications, including: helping players with visualisation while on the course; providing maintenance teams with a tool for working with external contractors; and allowing golf course architects to showcase their work at meetings with potential new customers.

More information, including a preview of the virtual tour technology, is available via the Onsite360 website.
