Burnt Pine Golf Club course reopens following greens and bunker renovation
A greens renovation project has been completed at the Burnt Pine Golf Club at Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort in Destin, Florida.
Originally designed by Rees Jones, the 7,000-yard course opened in 1994.
All 18 green complexes have seen ultra-dwarf, TifEagle bermuda grass introduced, and each complex has been expanded and restored to its original size.
The project took four months to complete and was carried out by Southeastern Turf Grass from Augusta, Georgia.
Strategic tree removal also took place and 18 of the course’s bunkers were enhanced as part of the venture.
“This project signifies our commitment to providing the highest quality golf experience for all of our members and resort guests,” said Matt Caister, PGA head golf professional at Burnt Pine Golf Club at Sandestin. “Players will notice the difference in the greens immediately and with the subtle contours and ridges added, it will allow us to be more creative with pin locations and make for a fun, yet challenging test for all skill levels.”
