Nine holes designed by architect Frank Pont will have ‘heathland character’.
Work is underway to create a new 27-hole complex at the former Weston Park club.
The three-year project involved a full course redesign led by architect Stephen Kay.
Work is already underway on the facility, which is set to open later this year.
The fourth and fifth holes have been redesigned to resolve flooding issues.
The course has also been rerouted to make room for Gil Hanse’s new nine-hole short course.
All 18 greens have been refreshed, resurfaced and, in some cases, redesigned to improve playability.
Funds from the £17 million sale will go towards the redevelopment of nearby Weston Park.
Leibold Irrigation will work on the Club Course to restore it to its original design.
Like Coore and Crenshaw’s No. 2, Hanse’s work will take inspiration from Donald Ross’s original footprint.
Projects covered include Golf Club Föhr, Brautarholt, Cabot Citrus Farms, Somabay and more
