The German golf design firm was founded in 1987 by Christoph Städler, a former German amateur champion and a past president of the European Institute of Golf Course Architects. Today the firm consists of three highly reputed golf course designers: principals Städler and Achim Reinmuth and designer Philipp Fleischhauer. Städler and Reinmuth are members of the EIGCA and are ‘sustainable design leaders’. One of SRG’s key strengths is its strong teamwork which has been instrumental in winning most of the design competitions entered. By 2025, SRG had completed 56 new golf courses in Germany, Switzerland, Czech Republic, Sweden, Poland and the Netherlands (most of them 18-hole or 27-hole courses) and more than 140 redesigns and renovations of existing golf courses. About 20 golf projects in Germany, Italy, Poland and the Netherlands are currently in planning or construction stages. SRG’s position as one of the most successful golf design firms in Europe has been achieved by its long-standing reputation for creating excellent golf courses at affordable costs, keeping construction work on schedule and within budget. Its designs focus on the best possible integration of sustainability aspects and on the creation of challenging yet fair courses that reward players of all skill levels with a joyful and exciting round of golf.
