PROMOTED ZLine Bunker Systems Booth: 1719 ZLine Bunker Systems had a very busy 2024. The company’s products got a high-profile viewing when Nelly Korda achieved her fifth straight tournament win (and her second Major title) in the Chevron Championship at Carlton Woods in Texas, a course that had recently undergone a complete bunker renovation at the hands of Nicklaus Design architect Chris Cochran – including the installation of the ZLine system. The club’s director of agronomy Tim Huber said: “I think ZLine is flat out the best bunker liner on the market. The bunkers were great during the tournament, and I’m confident they will continue to be great for our members.” Turfgrass On 3 February, Adam Moeller of Turfgrass is co-hosting a seminar with Cale Bigelow on cool season greens and a seminar with Jerry Lemons on bunker practices Construction of Cotton Bay Golf Club in Eleuthera, Bahamas, is set to begin in 2025 on the site of the original course developed in 1959 by Pan Am airline founder Juan Trippe. Turfgrass has partnered with Rober Trent Jones II and developed the agronomy specifications for the course and will support grow-in. After extensive research of the climate, soil conditions, and water quality, Turfgrass selected Pure Dynasty seashore paspalum for use on all turfgrass areas. This species aligns with the club’s sustainability goals while also providing exceptional playing surfaces and a quiet presentation that contrasts nicely with the sandy waste areas and bunkering. Native vegetation will be transplanted from the site into select low play areas to provide contrast and texture. At Cotton Bay, Turfgrass and RTJ II’s Mike Gorman are collaborating on construction methods, grass species selection and grow-in ZLine bunker liner was installed at the Carlton Woods course as part of a renovation by Nicklaus Design 107
