Developer Mosaic Company has hired management company Kemper Sports to run the golf operations at its Streamsong resort, currently under construction in rural Polk County, Florida. Interstate Hotels & Resorts will manage the hotel operation.
The 16,000 acre Streamsong site was formerly a phosphate mine, and has been transformed by design firms Coore & Crenshaw and Renaissance Golf Design into two interlinking courses, which are expected to open in late 2012. The 228 room lodge, designed by Alfonso Associates, is under construction and will open in 2013.
“It is a great honour to be selected to manage the golf operations at Streamsong Resort,” said Kemper president Josh Lesnik. “There are only three places in the world where Coore & Crenshaw and Doak have courses side-by-side – Barnbougle Dunes in Tasmania, Bandon and now Streamsong, which is sure to become a must-play destination.” Kemper already manages the golf operations at Bandon Dunes in Oregon, the resort that is seen by many as the inspiration for the Streamsong development.
